For the flower​ or the Scientific name of is Couroupita guianensis and its English name is cannonball tree. There is a confusion between with scientific name of Pentacme siamensis and with scientific name of Couroupita guianensis. The Pentacme siamensis is sometimes called in Khmer where as the Couroupita guianensis is called or Khmer. These two species of tree are completely different. The first is used as timber for the construction of house where as the second is grown as an ornamental tree, especially in the Buddhist temple. Romduol became the national flower in 2005 by the proclamation of royal decree by King Sihamoni. The plant has a yellowish-white flower with a single alternate leaf, a height of 8 to 12 metres, and edible fruits clustering with dark-red color when ripened.
